Command, Control and Communication (CCC)

Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship: High Speed Rail and Infrastructure Higher Technician

Enquiries and applications for September 2018 enrolment are now live.

CCC specialists sit at the heart of the functioning railway – they design and use systems that keep trains travelling at their optimum speed, junctions clear of traffic and passengers happy when their services run on time and without delays.

That means managing and using the system but also monitoring its outputs, including diagnostics on the trains (how fast it’s going, its acceleration, braking and load it is bearing at any given point) to ensure that the railway is performing at its best at all times.

You’ll need to be able to see how one small bit of data fits in to the bigger picture, and be able to focus on both the technical side of systems but also the requirements and expectations of a customer. You’ll be at the nerve centre of whatever line you work on!
