Track Systems

Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship: High Speed Rail and Infrastructure Higher Technician

This course is on offer to industry apprentices from September 2017. Enquiries and applications for September 2018 enrolment are now live.

Track systems refers to all aspects of the railway line itself, from its physical parts like ballast and sleepers to making sure the impacts of the environment and other structures don’t affect its performance.

Specialising in track systems in high speed rail could see you designing the track itself to being responsible for testing that everything’s working properly and making sure the track is fit to support the huge pressure that the trains will put on it.

You’ll need a really keen attention to detail and the ability to interpret (and act on) complicated data and technical information.
