To mark International Women in Engineering Day, The National College for High Speed Rail will be hosting a special Women in Engineering event.
The invite only event on the 21st June, hosted by BBC’s Steph McGovern, aims to engage with young women and help encourage them into the rail engineering sector. The event offers a unique insight into the types of careers and pathways within the rail industry.
Year 12 students from invited schools within the Sheffield area, will be invited to the event where they will take part in a Q&A session as well as an interactive group activity with support from rail industry professionals.
What will happen at the event?
● Introductory talk from television personality Steph McGovern
● Interactive group task – 60-minute challenge
● Opportunity for lunch – provided on the day
● Exploration of current perceptions of the rail industry
